The hotel chain is bringing gorgeous overwater luxury villas to Mexico’s Riviera Maya this September. At the adults-only El Dorado Maroma, there will be 30 private “palafitos,” or bungalows, with more to follow in a second stage of construction. |
Each palafito will give guests a 360-degree view of the crystal clear, turquoise ocean with glass bottom floors and a ladder to climb back up after you’ve jumped off the oversized front porch into the sea. If the view alone isn’t enough of a selling point, there is also outdoor “Aguas del Amor” showers, private infinity pools, indoor Jacuzzis, 24-hour room service, luxury beach beds, and even a full butler service on demand.
When you are ready for a little time back on land, it’s an easy retreat to Maroma Beach, voted one of the 10 best beaches in the world. A private picnic there can also be arranged by the hotel, or there are simple gourmet bites if you want something light to nosh on. The hotel will even bring you complimentary sunscreen should you need it. Guests have access to three pools, six restaurants, and four bars. There are also plenty of activities to enjoy, including volleyball, kayaking, bocce, and yoga, dancing, and cooking classes.
